Curing Country hams

The Cumberland County 4-H Animal Science Club, is more than just a club – we're a community of young leaders dedicated to exploring the fascinating world of animal science. The club provides a unique platform for youth ages 9-18 to cultivate a love for animals, gain hands-on experience in animal husbandry, and develop valuable life skills.

Mission and Values: Our mission is clear – to inspire a new generation of responsible, knowledgeable, and compassionate individuals who understand the importance of animal science in our world. We value hands-on learning, leadership development, and community engagement. Through our programs, we aim to instill a deep appreciation for the well-being of animals, promote ethical practices, and foster a sense of responsibility among our members.

Diverse Animal Experiences: Step into the world of the Cumberland County 4-H Animal Science Club, and you'll find yourself immersed in a variety of exciting experiences. From working with farm animals like cows, pigs, sheep, and poultry to curing country hams, our club offers a diverse range of activities. Whether you're interested in livestock management, animal health, or simply want to deepen your connection with the animal kingdom, there's something for everyone.

Educational Workshops and Contest: Knowledge is at the core of our club's philosophy. We regularly conduct educational workshops contest led by experts in the field of animal science. These educational programs cover topics such as nutrition, veterinary care, and sustainable farming practices. Members have the opportunity to expand their understanding of animal biology and welfare, providing a solid foundation for those interested in pursuing careers in veterinary science, agriculture, or related fields.
